Summary: Learning the truth behind the Foreign Office sets the Valkyrie on a quest to kill a monster that cannot be killed, in order to save someone who cannot be saved.

Or: Valkyrie bags a legend.

Note: This is a WIP that was originally posted in 3-5 Lines threads on failfandom-anon. It’s been on hiatus for a long time and may not ever be finished, but I’ve picked it up again and intend to post a completed version should I ever manage to get it written. I’m posting what there is in one place for the convenience of people who enjoyed it as it was being posted.

There are extensive spoilers for Ambition: Bag a Legend, and some spoilers for the Mysteries of the Foreign Office. It’s also heavy on SMEN elements, which are kind of inextricable from the story as I envisioned it, so if you aren’t up for anything that involves Seeking, then a) I get it, and b) you might want to skip this one.

Finally, it’s not going to be fully compliant with Bag a Legend in two ways:
1. It was outlined prior to the final BaL update and diverges in the final battle and events leading up to it, including the nature and function of the Chorister’s Bomb
2. There is a thing that was a red herring in BaL and is not a red herring here
